Lily is from the Liquid Expressions photography series, a dedication to exploring universes hidden from everyday view. With high-speed macrophotography, Cantú captures unique images, finding abstract moments that trigger the fascination and invite the imagination to fly.
The first time artist Raúl Cantú caught a drop colliding, he knew it was the beginning of a fascinating journey. After a lot of experimentation, tools made to his needs, physics of liquids, flashing lights, endless details and many nights of work, he mastered the ability to stop the clock — between 1/16,000 and 1/32,000 of a second, that is — and present stunning organic shapes, preserved in time.
