Mezcal Carreño Tepeztate comes from a mid to large agave varietal with a more erratic leaf structure that can reach more than 4 feet in length. Despite its size, the Tepeztate can be found in more rocky areas and even the side of step cliffs. One of the scarcer varietals, it can take more than 25 years for the Tepeztate to mature and provides a full bodied and earthy characteristics. The Tepeztate agaves are cooked together in an underground pit oven, milled by tahona, open-air fermented in pine vats, and double distilled in copper stills. Awarded a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2020, Mezcal Carreño Tepeztate tastes of rich minerality, cooked agave, and jalapeno are felt in each sip.

Mezcal Carreño Tobalá comes from a smaller species of agave that grows in a compact rosette with wide, flat spatulate leaves up to one foot in length and edged with sharp, needle-like spines. Typically it takes 10-15 years to reach maturity for harvest, and yields a sweeter, more delicate floral flavor. The Tobalá agaves are cooked together in an underground pit oven, milled by tahona, open-air fermented in pine vats, and double distilled in copper stills. Awarded Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2020, Mezcal Carreño Tobalá has hints of almond and chive with a floral nose.

Mezcal Carreño Ensamble 7 is a one-of-a-kind blend made with seven species Espadín, Tobalá, Tobasiche, Tepeztate, Coyote, Lumbre & Cuishe. These seven wild agaves represent the seven sisters of the Carreño family. The agaves are evenly weighed out to have a balance of flavor. Then cooked together in an underground pit oven, milled by tahona, open-air fermented in pine vats, and double distilled in copper stills. Awarded "Best Mezcal" at San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2020 along with Double Gold Medal, Ensamble 7 is both complex and delicate with hints of pineapple.

This set includes all 3 bottles, along with a stoneware copita so you can enjoy your mezcal in style. Each copita is indiviudally handmade with Arizona mud by Stonewarewolf, a woman-owned business in Tucson, Arizona, and holds on average 1-1.5 oz.
