Mikey Toledano

Mikey Toledano's work juxtaposes elements of the physical body with those of our natural surroundings. As a student at RISD, she was drawn to the nature lab, and spent time studying and sketching the array of animal and plant life. And and as a New Yorker living in Seattle, she takes inspiration from a varying array of topographies, from the rain forests of the pacific northwest to the desert mesas of New Mexico. She also collects native artifacts and studies their crafts, drawn from the earth and worked by the hand. Her line of handsome jewelry combines all of these elements into a collection that's equal parts handsome and earthy.
