Interactive Ferrofluid Sculptures

Ferrofluid is an iron-rich suspension fluid that becomes strongly magnetized in the presence of a magnetic field. It was originally invented in 1963 by NASA's Steve Papell as a liquid rocket fuel that could be drawn toward a pump inlet using magnets in zero gravity. And while it was never effective as rocket fuel, it does create an incredible art display. MTR Design has machine this collection of sleek sculptures with Ferrofluid inside, so you can watch it spike, spin, and rise up all on its own.
