Musashi Meadow Katana
From the Musashi Silver Collection Shirakawa Series comes this intricately hand crafted Meadow Katana. Using the Maru-kitae hand forged technique with 1060 high carbon steel, the result is a beautiful and resilient blade with a unique hamon pattern. The Meadow Katana is razor sharp and ready to cut.
The detailed Maru Gata style brass tsuba depicts a tranquil meadow with brushes growing around the tsuba while the brass kashira also caps off with bamboo. The wood handle is real ray skin wrapped in traditional black cotton cord while the high gloss black saya makes the Meadow katana a great piece to your traditional katana collection
An additional feature is the integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. Bo-Hi are commonly known as blood grooves, but that is a misconception. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to help reduce the weight of the katana, and actually has nothing to do with channeling blood. Making the Katana lighter enables the user to weld the katana more smoothly and puts less stress on the hands. Not to mention it benefits some advance cutting techniques that require the katana to change direction rapidly.
This katana includes a sword bag and Certificate of Authenticity. Each sword is individually numbered on the tang.
