Located in the Scottish Lowlands, Bladnoch Distillery is the southernmost distillery in Scotland. Founded in 1817 by the McClelland Brothers, Bladnoch is now the oldest independently owned distillery in Scotland. Businessman David Prior, who has had a lifelong love of Scotch Whisky, acquired the distillery in 2015 with ambitions to revive the historic distillery.

Handcrafted using only the finest local ingredients, Bladnoch whiskies are a true Lowlands experience. The pristine water from the River Bladnoch that flows alongside the distillery and locally grown barley are used to create a rich, flavorful whisky that is best savored. Bladnoch Single Malts are non-chill filtered to ensure the truest flavors shine through.

The name Adela comes from the Latin ‘rich and noble,’ signifying the depth of this special whisky that has been matured in ex-oloroso sherry casks. This single malt is comprised of stocks that were aging prior to its closure— aged for a minimum of 15 years in oloroso sherry butts made from Spanish and American oak, some of which were first fill. The Adela is not chill filtered or artificially colored to ensure its true flavors are presented.

Sherry, raisins, and a whiff of toffee pudding fill the nose, followed by rich dark chocolate, dried black fruit, and a hint of licorice on the finish.
