1972 Lincoln Memorial Cent Double Die Obverse // PCGS Certified MS66RD // Deluxe Collector's Pouch
Product Description
First minted in 1909 and still in production today, the Lincoln cent is the longest running coin design in U.S. history, despite several design modifications along the way. Offered here is a popular error variety in which the die used to strike the coin was struck twice, leading to subtle but distinct doubling of all coins subsequently struck from the error die. If you don’t own one of the classic double die Lincoln cents, then this example is an affordable way to add one to your collection. While not as prominent as the famed 1955 variety, the 1972 still maintains a clear doubling of the lettering and date on the obverse. This example is at the top of its grade. You will receive the unique coin shown in the photos housed in a plush-lined box with a certificate of authenticity.
