Product Description

The American Gold Eagle is the official 22 karat gold bullion coin produced annually by the United States Mint in 1, 1/2, 1/4, and 1/10-ounce denominations since 1986. It is currently one of the most widely traded gold bullion coins in the world. The coins are unconditionally guaranteed to be genuine, minted in 2021, and will match the exceptional mint-state quality of the ones shown. If you are interested in building a collection, consider adding other great selections from the American Premier Coinage Series, including the uncirculated 2021 American Silver Eagle.

Since its introduction in 1986, the American Gold Eagle has become one of the most widely traded gold bullion coins in the world. As stipulated by law, Gold Eagles are composed of gold mined solely in the U.S. with a purity of 91.67%. They are available in 4 denominations containing 1, 1/2, 1/4, or 1/10 oz of gold. The obverse descends directly from the beautiful St. Gaudens Double Eagle, designed by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens and chosen by Theodore Roosevelt to symbolize the United States as an emerging world power. Lady Liberty is depicted lighting the way into the 20th century with a torch in her right hand, and an olive branch of peace in her left. In the background is a rising sun symbolizing the “dawn of a new day,” thanks to the democracy of the United States—represented by the Capitol Building at the lower left. The original reverse features a male bald eagle holding an olive branch in his talons and flying towards the nest of his mate and their hatchling. In 2021, this was replaced with a detailed close-up portrait of a bald eagle. These stunning gold coins are the quintessential representation of our country and the ideals upon which it was founded.

Offered here is a newly minted 1/10-ounce 2021 American Gold Eagle in uncirculated condition taken straight from fresh U.S. mint rolls. Each coin is housed in an airtight capsule and presented in a luxurious, plush-lined wood box with embossed metallic gold lettering, piano-black finish, and certificate of authenticity.
