The cameras do have audio, but please note that this question was sent in regards to the necklace mount. Cameras are sold separately.

Do you have to have the camera to operate or can it be operated independently?

The necklace mount is only a convenient holder for the OPKIX camera so you can capture video at a moment's notice. The camera is sold separately.

What is the resolution on the camera?

The camera resolution is 1920 x 1080 HD video @ 30 FPS.
