Pacific Green is pleased to introduce these one-of-a-kind "Helgen Globes" by acclaimed French artist Bruno Helgen throughout North America. Bruno arrived in Bali over 20 years ago and decided to create a globe as a gift for his daughter, never thinking that he would be following in the five-century old footsteps of Martin Behaim, the creator of the first globe. Each one is handmade from reclaimed teak root originating in East Java and licensed by Indonesian Forestry. There will be holes and dents and burls that are in essence the perfect imperfections of nature's artwork. The Classic Series includes the original finishes that Bruno created -- Black Volcanic Sand and White Acrylic Resin. Each globe is uniquely inspired by the wood from which it is crafted, and some may stray quite far from the more conventional representation of the planet Earth that Behaim had envisaged.
