Product Description
The 2017 Pellet Estate Un-Oaked Chardonnay is bright, with a slightly golden hue. It has a generous and distinctive nose; pear-like with a touch of stone fruit (apricot), lemon/lime, and mineral. It has a rich and crisp palate, rounded edges and is smooth throughout, especially the finish.
This delightful wine is produced from the Sunchase Vineyard, perched high above the fog at an elevation of between 900-1,400 feet, where the Petaluma Wind Gap collides with Sonoma Mountain just over the Napa County border. The cool ocean breezes and moderate sunshine, paired with fractured rocky clay soil consistently produces distinguished Chardonnay. This wine is crisp and full of fruit.

The allegorical image on the label symbolizes the achievements and contributions of Henry Pellet's rich pioneering history in viticulture experimentation and education, and his highly acclaimed winemaking acumen in the fledgling days of the industry. Pellet basically presented Napa Valley wine to the world in the best light possible. Artist Walter Shirlaw, from the Bureau of Engraving & Printing, created an original work titled "Electricity Presenting Light To The World" or "Electricity as the Dominant Force in the World," which was used as the central image on the 1896 Educational Series $5.00 Silver Certificate. Hailed at the time as a remarkable blend of legend, patriotism and beauty, this note is still widely regarded to be the most beautiful currency in U.S. history.
