Product Description

A prolific sub-family of butterflies in Latin America is Heliconiinae. Their distinctive morphology has earned them the common name Bowtie or Longwing Butterflies. Most Heliconiidae caterpillars feed on poisonous plants such as Passiflora and the adults generally retain the toxicity that is absorbed in the larval stage. Now you can observe this dangerously beautiful creature in the safety of your own home.
