About the Designer

Andre Ricard was born in Barcelona in 1929 and was self-taught in an era when design was not recognized in Spain. He created his own studio in Barcelona in 1958: the Centro de Diseño Industrial (CDI). Highlights in his career include the packaging to Agua Brava, the Moulinex blender, the Copenhagen ashtrays or the Olympic torch at Barcelona 92.
