Vintage Buddhist Ga'U // Jade & Silver Amulet Box

This is a vintage Buddhist prayer and relic ga'u from Tibet was artisanally crafted of metallic silver, and features traditional Buddhist repousse (Hammered metal) designs; the butterfly representing the air, the Phoenix symbolizes peace and tranquility and the dragon. Unlike its demonic European counterpart, the Tibetan dragon is a creature of great creative power; a positive icon, representing the strong male yang principle of heaven, change, energy, wealth and creativity. Dragons are shape shifters, able to transform at will, from as small as the silkworm to a giant that fills the entire sky. The pearls, or jewels clutched in the claws of the dragon represent wisdom and health. The dragon can control the weather by squeezing the jewels to produce dew, rain or even downpours when clutched tightly. The dragon is the vehicle of Vairochana, the white Buddha of the center or the east.

The lid is capped with Jade green stone which is believed to be Buddha’s tears - Healers say the gemstone also benefits the eyes, hips, heart, spleen and thymus gland as well as aid poor digestion, relieve constipation and promote healthy hair.

Jade is considered a gemstone of good fortune, bringing its owner wealth, stability and love, helps open the heart chakra while attracting love, enhancing sexuality and fertility. It is also a protective stone, guarding against misfortunes and accidents.
