This custom museum display showcases an authentic oversized XL Red Glazed Face Ushabti Tomb Statue dating from 1279-1186 BC, part of the New Kingdom. This ancient Egyptian tomb statue features a finely carved ushabti in mummiform, wearing a black glazed tripartite wig.

The face is beautifully defined with incised mouth, large almond shaped eyes and faint ears. A Blue glazed broad collar necklace and vertical band of carved hieroglyphic inscriptions cover the lower chest and legs (usually a passage from the Book of the Dead).

Ushabti figures were placed in ancient Egyptian tombs in order to serve the deceased in the afterlife.
