Product Description

This jaw-dropping collection from RARE-T features a staggering array of authentic artifacts, antiques, meteorites, oddities, skulls, and cruelty-free taxidermy from various eras in history, in rare and luxury form. Each one was acquired in accordance to the import restrictions on archaeological material, which are intended to reduce the incentive for pillage and trafficking of illegal antiquities.

This custom museum display showcases an authentic, huge oversized XXL Carved Ushabti Tomb Statue dating from 664-525 BC, part of the 26th Dynasty. This linen wrapped ancient Egyptian painted tomb statue is finely carved in mummiform, wearing a tripartite wig, broad collar necklace and divine beard.

The face is beautifully defined with incised mouth, large almond shaped eyes and faint ears. The arms are crossed on the chest, hands protrude from a shroud to hold a flail in each fist (attributes of the deity Osiris that became insignia of pharaonic authority), the right hand also holding a twisted rope connected to an seed sack behind the left shoulder. Bands of carved hieroglyphic inscriptions cover the lower chest and legs (usually a passage from the Book of the Dead), as well as a finely carved Goddess Isis depicted in human form with tripartite wig and wearing Hathor's headdress (The preeminent goddess of earlier times), a sun disk between the horns of a cow. In her left hand is a flail (attributes of the deity Osiris that became insignia of pharaonic authority), the ancient Egyptian symbol for fertility.

Isis was refereed to in The Book of The Dead as "She who gives birth to heaven and earth, knows the orphan, knows the widow, seeks justice for the poor, and shelter for the weak"- the Egyptian goddess, was very popular throughout Egypt, and beyond and - she became was a goddess of almost limitless attributes! She was one of the goddesses who protected the sarcophagus and the Canopic jars (which contained the internal organs). It was thought that she helped the deceased on their difficult journey into the afterlife and she was sometimes named as one of the judges of the dead. Ushabti figures were placed in ancient Egyptian tombs in order to serve the deceased in the afterlife.

It's protected under plexiglass in a custom museum display to keep it looking pristine, ensuring protection of your investment while allowing you to fully appreciate this piece of collectible ancient history.
