Product Description

What began as a friendship and wine-tasting group, Red Stitch Wine has evolved into a critically acclaimed winery focused on capturing the unique terroir of Napa Valley in each bottle of their small production vintages. After the 2008 baseball season ended, founders Rich Aurilia and Dave Roberts (both former San Francisco Giants players) began to lay the groundwork for their own venture into the wine business. They eventually partnered with Rolando Herrera of Mi Sueño Winery, whose knowledge, relationships, and enthusiasm for Red Stitch have given them the opportunity to source incredible grapes from some of the finest vineyards in the Napa Valley.

The 2014 Red Stitch Pinot Noir, Sierra Mar Vineyard, Santa Lucia Highlands "shows both ripeness and restraint in all corners. On the nose, that means star anise and slate layered across black cherry and blackberry fruit. On the palate, the very full mouthfeel packs thyme, crushed herbs and elderberry flavors into an earthy package." 94 Points, Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast

"This Pinot Noir provides a mix of firm, dusty plum and wild berry notes, with grainy, graphite-and lead pencil–accented tannins. More promising on the finish where the flavors gain footing and balance, yet a pebbly, cobblestone detail persists.” 90 Points, James Laube, Wine Spectator

The 2017 Red Stitch Toboni Vineyard Pinot Noir alights one’s eyes with a dark rose hue almost reaching purple in the center of the glass which transitions into a beautiful hydrangea pink at the glass’s edge. A wispy hint of wild raspberry and violet on the nose is followed by a kiss of sweet wood. Gently pressed ripe strawberry and a bright raspberry essence glides along the palate with a delicate balance of acidity and a smooth, velvet finish. With its rich blend of the Pommard and 667 clones, this Pinot Noir exudes a depth of flavor and aromatics that is balanced by its bright acidity.
