About the Designer

Appearances are deceptive - especially in the work of groundbreaking surrealist René Magritte, who mixed wit with illusion. Magritte often blocked his subject's face with a suspended object, as in "Son of Man." Today, his work is still enigmatic, thought-provoking and highly influential.
