Product Description

Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) was an American architect, interior designer, writer, and educator, who designed more than 1,000 structures, from houses, to offices, churches, schools, skyscrapers, hotels, and museums. Wright believed in designing structures that were in harmony with humanity and its environment, a philosophy he called organic architecture.

His work inspired this collection of globes and stands by Replogle. The Glencoe Desk Globe was adapted from his 1911 design for a large brick pedestal in Booth Park, for the town of Glencoe, Illinois. The project, never developed, included covered archway entrances, lights, troughs for watering horses, seating and sculptures. The globe ball features stars, constellations and nebulae when unlit. When illuminated, it shows 70 celestial images.
