About the Designer

The IED - Istituto Europeo di Design was founded in 1966 by Francesco Morelli in Italy and, in the course of time, has become an international net of excellence in Design, Fashion, Visual Communication and Administration teaching. Brazil was chosen to host the first IED unity outside Europe, due to its great potential in the creative areas and the strong connection between the two countries. In 2008, Riva's director and head designer Rubens Simoes proposed a contest among the Brazilian IED design students and this challenge resulted in a new collection for Riva. Lead by the teacher Daniely Von Atzinger, the students G. Cassorali, G. Matsuy, G. Puglia, J.P. Schendel, J. Tamake e A. Zambra had the opportunity of having their projects produced by a company of international notoriety.
