About the Designer
Inês Brito and Joana Gouveia are two graphic designers who reinvented an old Portuguese textile industry by ‘re-using’ excess fabrics to create beautiful, designer necklaces. Near their native town, garment factories produce and cut the fabrics use in many of Europe’s largest fashion houses. SAAKO designs utilize these fabrics to create pieces that are tactile, vibrant, Mediterranean, and begging to be touched. Each necklace is designed by the duo and handmade by a tightly knit production team.
