Is the compression graded, higher toward extremity?

The compression is graded based on the major muscle groups. This is different from medical compression which places the highest level of pressure at the ankle and lessens as you move up the leg. Medical compression profiles are unsuitable for sports performance. It took 5 years to get it right as we focus the compression on the working muscles. As such, you will have the highest compression on the calf muscle belly and then it reduces around the knee and then focuses on the quad and glute muscle bellies as you move up the leg.
