Highlighting beautiful Australian red wine barrels and a maturation process that is unique to Melbourne, this barrel is a special, one-off display of the characteristics that makes Starward a one of a kind whisky.

Barrel 3312, available exclusively to the Touch of Modern customer, just happens to be one of the founder’s favorite casks. Matured entirely in an ex Barossa Valley red wine barrel, this singular whisky is rich with all the vanilla, spiced red berries, and toasted oak notes that make Starward unique. This special set also includes 2 11.5 oz old fashion rocks tumblers.

Why does the bottle say American Oak Barrel and the description say Australian red wine barrel?

The original barrel was American oak which was used to mature an Australian red. So the original cask was American oak and was Australian red by the time it came to starward.
