Product Description

This is no ordinary Pizza Stone. This is the SteakStones Pizza Stone, sourced from the undisputed home of Pizza — Napoli, Italy — and designed to cook any pizza to a crisp base and keep every last slice as hot and delicious as the first. Unlike other Pizza Stones, this stone can be cooked on, cut on, eaten off and easily cleaned with no worries about cracking or marking. It's the perfect serving vessel, marrying form and function in a simple, stylish design.

Simply heat the stone in your oven (under the baking or roasting element), on top of your broiler, or on your grill. The natural properties of the lava stone help it retain an incredibly high amount of heat, perfect for searing meats and sizzling presentations. For optimal use, heat the stone to approximately 540-660°F, which typically takes around 40 minutes in a conventional oven. To check whether the stone is hot enough following heating, place a teaspoon of water carefully on the centre of the stone. If the stone is fully heated this will instantly sizzle and visibly evaporate after 10 seconds.

Your SteakStones Lava Stones cannot be overheated using standard household ovens, but avoid exposure to direct heat i.e. gas or electric hobs, for longer than 40 minutes.

To clean, submerge in water for 5 minutes to let any remaining heat dissipate, then simply wipe clean. Scour as required. The Bamboo Board should be wiped clean with a cloth; avoid submerging in water and do not leave damp.

FAQ
Can this be used on an outdoor grill without cracking unlike traditional pizza stones that do?

Absolutely, yes. We use the Pizza Stone in the center of our barbecue as well and get that really nice searing without burning from the flames.

What’s the highest temperature that can be used for cooking?

The Lava Stones can take extremely high heat, but for cooking, we recommend a maximum heat of 660f, otherwise, the food can burn rather than the desired sear.
