Dreads in Concert Socks // Large
Product Description
“Live!” was recorded in London, during the “Natty Dread” tour, the first one where “The Wailers” became “Bob Marley and the Wailers”. The legend was born and rising, and Bob Marley was by then not only the voice of reggae but also the voice of the underprivileged and an ambassador for the financially impoverished but culturally rich Caribbean people.
Most critics will say an artist doesn’t build a reputation with live albums. They are just a cash cow, a way of milking some extra profit from previously released content. And if this is true, then “Live!” by Bob Marley and the Wailers is the exception to the rule. The ultimate rendition of the classic “No woman, no cry” was not recorded in a studio, but at the Lyceum Theatre in London, back in 1975.
