Product Description

Single hand watches may appear unconventional or even strange today, when everything is measured down to the second, but telling time using just a single clock hand used to be the standard method, dating as far back as the 16th century, when pocket watches first became popularized. It was a slower time. The lack of a minute hand on the Svalbard Tilbake Quartz means it is only possible to tell time with an accuracy of 5-10 minutes, continuing an ages-old method of measuring time.

The introduction of a second hand must have seemed as odd to people in the late 17th century as single hand watches appear to us today. By having a design that recalls the early timepieces, single hand watches are imbued with a sense of classicism, whilst drawing attention to the early origins of the watchmakers' craft.
