Product Description

This six-book boxed set is based on the original seven-volume series released by the German publisher Zweitausendeins between 1981 and 1997. Unlike this previous edition, which included every doodle ever made by the preeminent underground artist, this edition has been personally curated by the notoriously fastidious artist to include only what he considers his best work, reproduced directly from the original sketchbooks.

This slip-cased set is made with loving attention to detail in a size and format selected by the artist. Each book in the set contains 224 pages, for a total of 1,344 pages of prime Crumb from the artist’s most prolific, early period. The set includes a handwritten introduction, many pages of original color works, and 50 redrawn images distinctly different from the original works. Each set in this 1,000-copy limited edition also includes a signed, authenticated color art print of a collectible Crumb original.

Reproduced directly from the artist’s original sketchbooks, this six-book box set features Robert Crumb’s personal curation of what he considers his best work from his prolific early period of 1964–1981. Includes a handwritten introduction, many original color works and a signed, authenticated color art print.
