FAQ
The Novi Security sensor does not provide a continuous live stream of video. We simply capture a moment in time, whether that is a motion-based event while the system is armed or, an on-demand request from within the Novi App by the user. Novi is an alarm system designed to provide a quick, verified event to the user and put him/her immediately in contact with their local police department.
Can you add multiple cameras on the same system/connection?The Novi Security system will allow you to add up to five additional Novi Expansion Packs (Individual Sensors) to a Security Starter Pack, providing a total of six sensors on a single system. You may also manage multiple systems (i.e. home, office, cabin, vacation home, etc.) under a single user account.
Does the camera have recording ability?The Novi Cam does not have local storage. All Novi event details are instantly saved and accessible by the user through the Novi App or Novi Web Portal.
How long have they been in business?Novi Security has been in business since 2015.
Will this device work with a smart tv, (wifi) desktop computer or a tablet (wifi)?The Novi Security system is accessible via the Novi Security App which can be downloaded to a smartphone or tablet (iOS and Android Compatible). Additionally, users may access their system using a PC or laptop computer by accessing the Novi Security Web Portal.
Can this be used outdoors?The Novi Security sensor is currently not outdoor rated. However, we have heard of customers who have installed them in protected areas (i.e carport, covered porch, etc.) and it has worked well for them. It is important to note that items installed outdoors that receive water damage, or the like, will not be covered under Novi's standard warranty.
Where is the install/owners manual?The installation manual is provided within the Novi App as a step by step process when you initially download the app and bring the system online. It takes approximately 10-15 minutes to program and install the Novi Security system. Within the Novi App, you can always go back and review the Novi Tutorial which also serves as an install/owner manual. Answers to additional questions can also be found on the Novi Support page at

At this time, the event details can not be backed up to a local server. All associated event details are stored on secure servers and accessible via the Novi Security App.
