Product Description

Furthermore created their first two barrels of Pinot Noir in 2006. The fruit for those fifty cases of wine came from the Bohemian Vineyard in Freestone, just a few miles from Nevina's Vineyard, the estate vineyard they purchased on Willow Creek Road in 2011. Having discovered their love for wine, and especially Pinot Noir, in the 90s, their mission was to conduct a long term study of how Pinot Noir expresses itself regionally throughout California, particularly in areas influenced by coastal climates. All these years later, their mission remains the same. They've grown over the years, but are still a relatively small operation, producing about 2,000 cases a year, from the Santa Rita Hills in Santa Barbara County all the way up to Yorkville Highlands in Mendocino. After purchasing Graton Ridge Cellars and establishing the Graton Ridge estate vineyard, Furthermore began a new chapter by establishing a tasting room, moving all operations to their new home just north of Sebastopol.

People often ask where the name Furthermore came from. It alludes to the never ending dialogue that explores the ethereal beauty and diversity of Pinot Noir, and how its expression in the glass is easily affected by the place where it's grown, and the special circumstances of each vintage.

No other AVA in California is as synonymous with Pinot Noir as the Russian River Valley. This Russian River Valley cuvée is comprised of estate fruit as well as pinot from adjacent vineyards and vineyards within a mile or two of Furthermore's winery. All this fruit comes from the west side of the Russian River Valley in Sebastopol where the fog visits nearly every day during the growing season to help maintain the bright acidity that balances the gorgeous red fruit that defines a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.

Rich garnet in color, dark plum, this Pinot features red fruit and savory notes on the nose. Hints of oak and baking spice linger, while on the palate a fresh pop of cranberry, pomegranate and red fruit make for a crisp but medium bodied mouthfeel.
