About the Designer
Deroy Peraza was born in Havana, Cuba, has lived in five countries, and loves to travel. He lives with his wife Jenna and sons, Luco and Naim, in Brooklyn. He is a do-gooder and a die-hard FC Barcelona fan.
Peraza is a founding partner and creative director at Hyperakt, a social impact design studio based in Brooklyn, NY. With over a decade of experience designing brand identities, data visualizations, online experiences, Peraza is equal parts designer, entrepreneur and cheerleader. Peraza's work has won numerous awards, has appeared in several books and exhibitions, and has been recognized in notable publications like The New York Times, Washington Post and Time.
Peraza has loved sports since he was a little kid. He spent endless hours memorizing stats and drawing interpretations of team logos and uniforms. Visualizing the history of sports championships with The Champions Ring is his way of satisfying the obsessions of his 10-year-old self.
