Laʻieikawai (Lāʻi.e.-i-ka-wai) was a Hawaiian princess who lived in a cave, adorned with a rainbow in the sky above, a telltale sign of royalty. Rumors of her beauty travelled throughout the Hawaiian islands. It is said she could float on the wings of the birds, and had a house made of sacred feathers.
