Product Description
The Epic 590 C is a 5-weight, custom-tuned, light, and highly responsive fly rod designed for technical dry fly, emerger, and nymph fishing for trout of all sizes. Each studio-built fly rod is individually handcrafted specifically for you from start to finish, and each is identified by a unique laser engraved winding check, than can be registered against your name in The Swift Fly Fishing Company owner's database.
Using generation two nano-technology, the Epic C series features a state-of-the-art fly rod blank, and the most sophisticated composite materials and production processes are used in their construction, like proprietary nano-resins, full Helical construction, multi modulus, and unidirectional carbon fiber.
The lockup point develops in the top third of the blank, and although recovery rates are fast (faster than the Scott Radian for example), the Epic C series would best be described as Medium Fast in action. Epic C Series rods are light without sacrificing strength (the blank is lighter, yet has a thicker wall section than the equivalent Sage One).
In addition to the industry leading technology used in each of the blanks, Epic carbon fibre fly rod blanks feature a proprietary ground ferrule system. Each male ferrule is hand-ground to perfectly fit the female section of the blank, while the female sections are all internally reinforced. The result is superb ferrule fit and a smooth casting rod with no flat spots.
An additional benefit is that because these ferrules are so precise, if the unthinkable happens and you experience a breakage The Swift Fly Fishing Co. can simply send you out a replacement section immediately, knowing the fit will be spot on.
