Product Description

The FDA Approved Therapik® works on the scientific principle that most types of venom are thermolabile - or sensitive to heat. This device delivers a pinpoint of heat in the precise temperature range necessary to deactivate the venom from over 20,000 different species of insects and sea creatures, relieving the pain and itch from bug bites and insect stings, and reducing swelling by increasing blood flow to the affected area. It offers infinite uses, with no sprays, creams, or nasty chemicals required. It even provides effective relief from the itching and irritation due to flea and mosquito bites and contact with stinging nettles.

To use the device, just place The Therapik®'s cylindrical opening on the affected bite or sting area, and activate the Therapik® by keeping the large blue button depressed for 20-30 seconds - or for as long as the heat is bearable on the skin. The average application time is approximately 30 seconds. If pain and itch persists, Therapik® may be reapplied to the bite or sting until relief is obtained. Wait 60 seconds between each application to allow skin temperature to return to normal.

— NOTE: The Therapik® is intended to be used to deliver heat to a localized area of the body in order to relieve the pain and itch associated with stings from insects and sea creatures that deliver thermolabile venom. Such animals and insects include bees, wasps, hornets, and jellyfish. The Therapik® is not approved for the treatment of spider, scorpion, or snake bites, since these creatures do not deliver thermolabile venom. The Therapik® is also not intended to replace prompt medical attention for those individuals with bee-sting or other similar allergies. In the case of known allergies to insect stings, the user is instructed to seek prompt medical attention. The user is also instructed to consult a physician if pain from the sting or bite persists.

Does it work on poison ivy or other plants like that?

Unfortunately, it's not recommended to use a Therapik on poison ivy. The toxin from poison ivy will not subside from heat therapy.

Is there a limit to the number of times this can be used? Can it be used for cold sores?

The Therapik has no limit to the number of times you can use the device. As long as you have a fresh 9V battery, the Therapik should work as intended.

Unfortunately, we would not recommend the Therapik as a remedy for a cold sore. The Therapik is primarily used to dissipate the toxins and poisons received from various bug and insect bites.

Does Therapak Relieve pain & itch from "Bed Bug Bites"?

The Therapik will relieve the itch from the bite of a bed bug.

Does it work if you can’t use it right away, if you’re not with the device until later that day?

Yes, the Therapik may be used at any point in the life cycle of the bug bite.
