Founder Neil Giraldo is a professional musician, producer, and film composer who has worked with some of the all time greats like Rick Derringer, Pat Benatar, and Kenny Loggins. When Giraldo first began playing the guitar, he realized that if he could learn to play three basic chords, he could have a career in music. After four decades in the limelight, he took the same philosophy he had for making music and applied it to blending bourbon. By blending the “tones” of various whiskeys together, he could create a unique “harmony” of flavor and compose a true masterpiece.
Three Chord Bourbon's expert team has developed a multi-step process they call “Perfectly Tuned Taste.” It begins by carefully selecting the finest bourbon and rye whiskeys from stocks in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana; followed by their proprietary process of pyrolysis and blending. By using carefully selected barrels and combining unique flavor profiles, Three Chord creates an expression that is greater than the sum of its parts.
Their small batch Tennessee Blended Bourbon is bottled at an easy-drinking 81 proof. It combines whiskies from Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee up to 12 year old to create a smooth, aromatic, and versatile bourbon whiskey. A secondary, controlled, wood-charring process reintroduces notes of maple syrup, caramel, and vanilla. Integrating the additional toasted White American Oak staves brings depth of flavor and a hint of smokiness. It's the perfect medium-high rye bourbon for cocktails, highballs, or sipping neat.
