Originally only offered to close friends and family, Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia Extra Anejo is made from only the hearts, or pinas, of 8-10 year old agave plants. The agave cooks at distillery La Rojena for 48 hours total - 36 hours through direct vapor and then 12 more hours with just its own heat. Our fermentation is a 100% natural process, in which the raising of the alcohol content is closely monitored. When ready, the tequila is double distilled in a copper pot, preserving all of the characteristics and elements obtained in the fermentation, creating a product with an outstanding profile and cleanliness

The tequila is a dark amber hue. Aromas of oak, almonds, apple, olives and cinnamon. Flavors of rich oak, toasted almonds, vanilla and cinnamon. The finish is long and silky.
