About the Designer

UBi-IND is the brainchild of owner Ulrich “Ubi” Simpson, whose goal is to provide a modern, yet classic, American made jean for the male consumer with more than average measurements.

Ubi has had a long career in design and branding, working and consulting for firms such as Diane Von Furstenberg, Rossignol, Coach, Caterpillar, Pepe Jeans London, and Tommy Hilfiger. After that, Ubi set out to create the perfect pair of jeans for what he understood to be a severely underserved area of the market: larger guys with athletic builds. At 6’3 and 275lbs, Ubi understood this first-hand. Where most premium denim is directed towards the average consumer, UBi-IND jeans meet the specific needs of an athletic build, in a range of sizes spanning from 29 to 46, with more room in the thigh and seat and a standard 34” inseam. The brand currently outfits several NFL, NBA, and NHL players.

Through a devotion to all things vintage, Simpson’s creative sensibilities blend this technical knowledge of what men need with the foundations of American denim and workwear styling, along with the highest quality American-made materials to create a product that is sure to become a classic.
