Product Description

In the Ukiyo-e Heroes project, illustrator Jed Henry and traditional woodblock printmaker Dave Bull have combined their talents to create Japanese woodblock-inspired prints. Machine printed on handmade Japanese paper, each piece brings a surprising twist to iconic heroes, villains, and monsters spanning almost every genre. Modern costuming has been traded for the medieval, but the essence of each character remains.

The right cartouche's kanji are 走 (run), 日 (day), 駆 (chase), and can be read So-ni-kku. The lower left kanji are 飛青破鎖, loosely meaning "Flying blue, breaker of chains."
