Altaneve creates all natural, sustainably produced wines in line with traditional Italian wine-making techniques. Each vintage is exclusively produced in the foothills of the Dolomite Mountains on the Italy-Austria border based on over 10 generations of experience producing superior wines. The name “Altaneve” even translates to “high snow” in honor of the snow-capped peaks seen from the tops of Altaneve’s hilly vineyards. The uniquely temperate microclimate lends unparalleled character to the grapes that make Altaneve wine remarkable.

Altaneve Z is the pinnacle of what Prosecco wine can be, and aims to set a new standard for Prosecco Superiore DOCG. This very limited production Prosecco is hand-harvested on a 1,000+ year-old vineyard in Valdobbiadene, on a small plot beneath the hamlet of San Pietro di Barbozza on a small hillside named "Il Bacio." This micro-plot is so small, it can only produce 1,500 bottles per year. It is worth the toil as the terroir bestows an amazing minerality to this unique wine. Altaneve harvested this plot of old-clone, 60+ year-old vines in late September to ensure a healthy sugar content that creates the lovely floral bouquet and elegance that makes this wine so notably complex.

Altaneve's oenologist has spent over a decade perfecting this wine, employing a uniquely-extended 7-month secondary fermentation process unlike other Proseccos on the market (for most Proseccos, this process generally lasts between 10-20 days). This lends the wine the depth and complexity of a Champagne, while maintaining the signature crisp freshness of a great Prosecco. With this winemaking technique, the perlage, balance, and elegant finesse of the wine are unique and spectacular.

Altaneve Z is an extra brut, dry, sparkling wine that boasts a mere 5 g/l of residual sugar. Exceptional as an aperitivo, this unique Prosecco also pairs wonderfully with shellfish, sushi, and fruit.
