VALAS Los Angeles launched in 2012 with the intention of building beauty out of the turmoil that life sometimes brings. Having lost her father as a child and a dear friend in 2010, Karina Salmeron set out to make sense of it all through artwork that came off of the canvas and turned into beautiful, one of a kind accessories and shoes. With a light military influence, as Karina’s father was a soldier in his home country of Nicaragua, and a mind for modern functionality, VALAS Los Angeles came to life with the help of her brother, Kenny Villagra, starting with the signature Voyager Backpack.
