After the Middle Ages, the art of perfumery prospered in Florence, influencing the birth of the great perfume manufacturers in the rest of Europe. A historical Florentine brand itself, Visconti decided to design the Extase D'oud—a special pen inspired by Middle East culture and, in particular, by the captivating oud scent.

The pen's filigree decoration is inspired by the logo for Expo 2020 in Dubai.
