Originally created for a need of extreme navigational precision and accuracy, the IWC Portuguese became the first wristwatch to use pocket watch movements. It’s intricacy is matched only by its practicality; and this print is no different. Trendsetting among watches due to i’s size, the IWC Portuguese features a streamlined dial with Arabic numbers to make the watch look even bigger than it actually was. With a diameter case of 43mm it was considerably larger than any other watch of its time and serves as a precursor to the large faced wrist watches popular today.

From the thin bezel to the leaf hands and sub-dial, this hand-illustrated print is perfect for the watch lover with an eye for detail and a hunger to explore. This lithographic print was pressed in Long Island City, New York on 8" x 10" 100lb FSC certified archival cover stock using the best Van Sons Elite Series soy based inks.
