Wheyward Spirit is a one-of-a-kind, specialty spirit designed to take the best elements of vodka, sake, gin, and rum to offer a versatile and incredibly sippable spirit.
Wheyward goes against the grain by handcrafting their product sustainably from Farm-to-Flask in an effort to prevent waste and add value to the food system. Founder and CEO, Emily Darchuk, was working as a food scientist in the natural food and dairy industry when she observed firsthand the problem of whey waste. Producing 1 lb of cheese required 10 lb of milk, which left 9 lb of nutrient-rich whey behind. While some of the high-quality whey was used in other food products, hundreds of billions of pounds end up as waste. Wheyward is helping break that cycle by sourcing excess whey from domestic dairies and transforming it into a premium, whey-based spirit that both serves the greater good and guarantees a good time.
Complex and sippable with a natural creamy smoothness, the signature flavor is defined by oaky hints of vanilla and warm spice, rounded out with a subtle fruit sweetness and a velvety smooth finish. All the flavor is created naturally during the fermentation process and enhanced by cuts made during distillation to help it blossom.
