Does the hose have to be drain from a window?The air conditioner uses the patented auto drain or self-evaporative technology which exhausts condensation automatically in most environments. Please note that if the humidity is very high, the auto drain function will still exhaust the majority of the moisture. The remaining moisture will be collected in the water tank at the base of the air conditioner and continue to self-evaporate until the tank becomes full and requires manual drainage.
If continuous drainage is necessary, the hose can be installed to the upper drain port for continuous gravity drainage. When continuous drainage is set up, the collected moisture will be drained through the hose and not drain down into the water tank and will not self-evaporate.
Is this AC unit mechanically closet to a fixed, in-home air conditioning unit or more like a “swamp cooler”? And if it’s more like a typical AC unit, why doesn’t it need a vent to outside?This item uses a compressor to cool and uses an exhaust hose to vent the heat from the room.
