Are you ready for the The Kentucky Derby? It’s the first Saturday in May, and here’s what you need for that perfect mint julep.

The Mint Julep has been the traditional beverage of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby for nearly a century. The traditional Derby Day cocktail is crafted from bourbon, simple syrup and mint.

INGREDIENTS:
2 oz. Woodford Reserve
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
3 Fresh Mint Leaves
Crushed Ice

Express the essential oils in the mint and rub them inside the glass. Then add simple syrup, bourbon, and crushed ice and stir. Garnish with more ice and fresh mint.
