Zubits is the inspiration of Ryan and Valerie Wiens, who noticed that even velcro-fasten shoes took a long time for their kids to "lace". They made Zubits not just for kids, but for anyone wanting an easier way to get in and out of shoes. Zubits Magnetic Closures launched on Kickstarter in 2014, and the response has been, well, magnetic.
