Twenty years ago, DuFrane founder Steven started to seriously collect both vintage and modern mechanical watches. He researched the origins of mechanical timepieces, from their use as navigational tools in the early days of sailing and exploration, up to their current practice as luxury items and expressions of style. Over the years, he kept a special notebook where he drew watch designs and ideas. It was never originally his plan to start a watch brand, but it became clear that this was more than an idle hobby.
