The Gate Smart Lock is the all-in-one security update your smart home has been missing. Complete with built-in WiFi that enables it to connect directly to your smartphone, this simple but effective video streaming smart lock features a doorbell, motion-activated video camera, two-way audio, and an LED keypad to ensure you never miss an important delivery or find yourself locked out again.

The Gate Smart Lock is equipped with a 720p motion-activated camera with 150° field-of-view to catch all the action. When someone rings the doorbell or motion is detected, the dedicated Gate smartphone app will send a push notification directly to your device. With just the push of a button you'll have access to a live video stream, as well as 2-way audio so you can communicate with visitors in real-time.

The Gate Smart Lock can then be locked and unlocked remotely via the app (when there is motion activity at the door), or via the LED-lit keypad. You can also set an auto-lock timer that will automatically lock your door for you when you leave home. Within the app, you can easily create and manage four-digit access PINs for your family, friends, the housekeeper, the dog walker, and more, as well as one-time-use access codes for guests, deliveries, and one-time service providers.

FAQ

Do I need Wifi to use this lock?

Yes. You need WiFI to operate the Gate Smart Lock and you should have a strong WiFI signal at the location where you are installing your device. You should also avoid installing the Gate Smart Lock on metal doors as this may interfere with the WiFi signal.

Do you have to have a subscription to get personal codes for myself or family?

Gate offers a basic plan, which is free. With the basic plan, you can have up to four permanent codes active at any one time. If you need more codes you would need so subscribe to one of the paid subscription plans.

How weatherproof is the device?

The Gate Smart Lock is weather resistant and is designed for use in the exterior of home environments. The interior of the device is meant to be inside the home, away from weather.

Is it battery operated?

Yes, it uses a rechargeable battery that we include with the system. It is charged with a micro-USB cable much like your cell phone. The battery pod can be detached for charging and the lock can have batteries hot-swapped.

Can someone with decent mechanic skills install this lock?

The lock can be physically installed just like other electronic deadbolts. It only needs a screwdriver (included with purchase).

Can this be used as a stand alone combination lock without wi fi?

You will need to set it up once with WiFi first. This allows you to set PIN codes. After the setup, it is not required that wifi is active for the pin codes to unlock your door. However, the notifications and additional PIN code updates will require WIfi.
