Sleep Companion is the first lightbulb scientifically engineered to help you achieve better sleep by allowing you to influence your body's natural melatonin levels, while its companion app helps you understand additional factors that may disrupt the quality of your nights.

Built on several studies conducted by NASA, Jefferson University, and Harvard Medical school, demonstrating the impact of proper lighting on sleep performance, SleepCompanion adjusts according to the time of the day. It uses full spectrum LEDs to control its output wavelength to influence melatonin levels in the body: reddish light to increase melatonin when its time to sleep or precisely-defined blue light to decrease melatonin when it's time to wake up. SleepCompanion even includes a relaxation program, guided by light, to help forget about the worries of the day and ease into sleep.

Grégoire Gerard & Jérôme Schonfeld

Grégoire has a double degree in mechanical engineering and in industrial design. He has led more than 100 product and interactive design projects over the past decade, and has recently become particularly interested in connected devices and the Internet of Things.

Jérôme is a seasoned entrepreneur with 15 years of experience in Consumer Electronics and consulting working with Fortune 150 clients such as Lanvin, Renault, and Amore Pacific, both in France and abroad. Formerly CEO of YBA, one of the most prestigious high-end audio manufacturer in Europe, he holds a MSc in Management from EM Lyon.
