Can this be used outdoors?

Is this battery powered?

Ucam is not battery powered, it must be plugged in via universal micro-USB.

What if I don’t want a plan at all? Will the camera work still?

You do not need to use the Cloud service. The device is fully functional without Cloud. To summarize, there are three ways to view footage with Ucam:

1) Livestream video can be viewed any time (no storage, just live feed).

2) Continuous recording can be stored on a MicroSD Card. A 128 GB card can store up to 3 weeks of continuous footage, where older clips are replaced by newer clips. This is 100% optional.

3) Motion detection clips can be stored via the Cloud service. There is a free tier that provides 10-sec clips for up to 3 hours after motion is detected, and paid tiers that offer 20/30-sec clips that can be viewed for 7/30 days, respectively. This is 100% optional.

Can you access camera from computer?

No, you can only access it from mobile for now.

Does this camera connect to the internet?

Ucam can connect to the Internet via WiFi or wired ethernet. You can also connect to your own local area network (LAN).

Is Cloud an Apple Company?

No, the Cloud used by Ucam is not related to Apple. The Ucam Cloud is encrypted so only you are able to access your videos.

Does this record on color both day and night?

No - night vision is in black and white. Both daytime and nighttime recordings are crisp and clear.

Do I have control of the 360 degree camera angle via my phone, or do I have to move it manually?

Yes, you do have control from your phone.

Can the camera be remotely put to sleep ( turned off) then at some later time/date turned back on ??

You can remotely disable continuous recording of footage as well as motion detection clips any time you want, which means no videos about your home will be stored anywhere. However, the camera itself cannot be powered off/on remotely.

Can iCam be mounted to the ceiling?

Yes — Ucam can be mounted to the wall or ceiling and comes with a basic mounting kit in the box. It also comes with a universal tripod screw-hole for professional mounting systems.

How much is the monthly cloud service ?

Ucam offers free livestream video, as well as continuous rolling footage on microSD card. In addition, Ucam offers has three Cloud storage options for motion detection clips: 1) for free, you can have 10-sec clips available for viewing up to 4 hours after capture, 2) for $2/mo or $20/yr, you can have 20-sec clips available for viewing up to 7 days after capture, 3) for $6/mo or $60/yr, you can have 30-sec clips available for viewing up to 30 days after capture.

Will it work with Alexa?

No, it does not work with Alexa due to privacy purposes.

How long is the power cord?

Ucam is powered by a universal USB to micro-USB cord and it comes with a cord that is ~10 feet long. If you need a longer cord, Ucam is compatible with any USB to micro-USB cord.

Can you zoom in?

Yes, you can zoom on with high 1080p resolution via the mobile app. Ucam is also able to pan/tilt for full 360 degree coverage.

Can it be wall or ceiling mount and display images horizontally or vertically corrected?

Yes - Ucam videos can be re-oriented (flip, horizontal, rotate) to match your mounting preference.

Does it need WiFi?

Ucam and your mobile device (phone, tablet) must be connected to the Internet, but they can be connected to different networks. For example, your Ucam will likely be connected to your home Internet network at all times, while your phone can be connected to any cellular or WiFi network.

Does this camera need to be plugged all the time to operate?

Yes, this camera needs to be plugged in to operate.

What is the volt & amp requirement if it is powered by a laptop with a battery power supply or other uninterrupted power supply?

Pebble utilizes a DC 5V/1A power supply, with max power consumption of 5 watts.

Can you control 2-3 cameras at the same time from one mobile device?

Yes, you can add as many Ucams as you want to a single account and view them with a single click from the home dashboard. You can also share access to any number of people for each individual Ucam.

Can recordings on the MicroSD card be downloaded via Bluetooth or Wifi, or does it have to be manually removed?

You can download the recordings on MicroSD via WiFi, which will be saved to your mobile device storage (i.e., Camera Roll). Ucam supports MicroSD cards up to 128GB. With a 128GB MicroSD card, you can store 2-3 weeks of continuous recording and old footage is automatically replaced with new footage.

Can it be used to chat online with friends?

No, Ucam does not include any chat functionality but you are able to share/revoke access to your device with friends at any time. You are in full control of your videos!
